GIVING BACK

We believe in bringing people together and make a positive impact.

From supporting local businesses and charities to sending essential items to the people of Ukraine – we know the importance of helping others during this time of war and economic hardship. That’s why we are immensely proud of our fundraising team at Ocean Holidays. Whether running marathons or jumping out of planes, they have undertaken almost every endeavour between the ground and the sky to ensure we continue to support those who need it most. And we promise our efforts to give back are far from over.

Supporting Local Charities

Ocean Holidays regularly supports the Essex-based Haven House Children’s Hospice, a charity that specialises in caring for children who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Our fundraising activities in 2022 included sky diving, half marathons, charity football matches, online raffles, and the annual Stadium Walk (totalling 35 miles between all London premier league football stadiums in one day). These efforts resulted in us raising approximately £50,000.

In addition to raising money for Haven House last year, a group of employees attended their Garden Day. Here, they painted fences and carried out general garden maintenance to help provide a better environment for families who visit the hospice.

Supporting Ukraine

During the war in Ukraine, we asked our employees to donate clothes, food, medicine, toiletries, and other essential items to the nation.

Our employees responded with full support, resulting in three carloads of donations being transported across Europe to war-torn areas of Ukraine in 2022.

Supporting Local Businesses

Once a month we organise a ‘Coffee Walk’, giving employees the chance to take a break and catch up on a visit to a local coffee shop.

We believe this small gesture is important for helping us all find the right balance between work deadlines and the ongoing task of taking care of our mental health.

This initiative also gives back to the local community financially. For example, we recently visited Hope Café in Romford, where all proceeds went straight back to AHAVA – a charity that helps the homeless.

Ambitions for the Future

We would love to make 2023 our best year yet for giving back. Here are three of our goals:

  • Arrange US-based events
  • Partner with local foodbanks
  • Organise more Volunteering Days
